I Have No Idea What AI Will Do Next

Nobody does. Anyone saying they do is guessing.

I've built a business over 14 years. I've watched consultants charge fortunes helping companies prepare for futures that never showed up.

Remember the millennium bug? The world was ending. Billions spent. Governments panicked. Midnight came. Nothing happened.

AI is not that. But the hype machine works the same way.

I see two things online right now.

AI will destroy your business if you don't keep up.

AI is about to implode because it's all hype.

Both are wrong.

It's always somewhere in the middle. The worst never happens. The best never happens either.

I watched Elon Musk on a podcast. He said we spent decades filling buildings with people working computers. The companies of the future will just have buildings full of computers doing it all themselves. No people needed.

He might be right.

I genuinely don't know.

Neither does he.

So I stopped trying to predict it.

I'm looking for the problems AI won't fix.

The human ones.

The ones it will actually make worse.

Trust. Relationships. Connecting with another person.

Those problems aren't going anywhere. They're getting bigger.

That's where I'm putting my focus. 

I'm too old to be chasing moving goalposts.
