How to Make $10k/mo with LinkedIn In 30 Mins per day
What would an extra $10,000 per month from LinkedIn do for your business?
The good news is you don't need a huge audience, post every day or spend hours on the platform.
In fact, you can do it in around 30 minutes per day. The problem is most people are building LinkedIn backwards. I'll show you the simple three-part system that turns LinkedIn into a predictable source of clients.
You need a $5k offer
Imagine I wanted to open a health food shop on a busy street. I’d do my research, see what people want and are actively buying and stock the shop with a range of products, but on LinkedIn a lot of people do the exact opposite.
They worry so much about stocking the shop with the wrong things, they stock it with nothing. They don’t have any defined products that solve any specific problems and hope a customer will wander in and ask if they have X or Y.
On LinkedIn, you need a defined proposition. A clear offer that solves a problem people want to solve.. You need a clear offer, a service that solves a problem for a specific type of customer.
People don’t come into a health food shop looking for general health foods, they have something very specific in mind. On LinkedIn, you have access to over a billion people, there is no shortage of customers, but they need to see you have something for them specifically.
You need a proposition, an offer, for an audience, with a specific problem and a process people can buy into to solve it. Now the trick with LinkedIn is to sell high ticket, that means you need a small number of clients to make $10k a month. A $5k offer means you need just 2 clients every 30 days.
Your offer should have:
- A defined problem
- A defined outcome
- A process or methodology
- Evidence it’s worked for others
- A set price
Most people start with pipeline. They begin posting, networking and prospecting before they've defined an offer or created demand. The easiest way to make LinkedIn work is to build these in order: Proposition. Pre-Selling. Pipeline.
Pre-Sell Your ICP
Thinking about my health food shop story, let’s say I’m launching a new product in store, it helps solve back pain from sitting at computers all day.
Trying to get people to buy something at first sight is hard, especially if it promises a big transformation.People are more skecpitcal these days, so we have to pre-sell them. Your content, your profile should be educating people on what exactly you offer, why it matters and that it works for your target audience.
When I look at people on LinkedIn, they often do the opposite. No proof, no offer, no problem. It’s vague and nobody is landing on their profile and saying WOW this might help me.
Pre-selling is simple, set your profile up so that it supports your offer, use your content to talk around the offer, the problem and the solution. People won’t enquire or buy the first time they see it. If you’re selling a $5k offer, people won't buy it on a whim, your content and profile needs to create demand for it.
Your profile should:
- Show the problem
- Explain the offer
- Show the results
- Show the process
- Back it up with proof
Your content should:
- Make the problem feel expensive
- Make the solution feel possible
- Make your approach feel credible
The mistake a lot of people make is posting tips and tricks, personal stories and none of it links up to the offer, so they get attention that doesn’t convert.
You need to make people aware of your offer and line your profile, your content and your proof so that people know, this part makes it easy to do the next part, build a pipeline of $5k clients.
You need 20 leads in 30 days
My new health food shop will only survive if I get footfall. People coming into the shop and checking out what we have. If my shop doesn’t get people coming through the door, I go out of business.
The same is true on LinkedIn, you need a flow of leads coming through your door. For a $5k offer, you may need 20-30 leads per month to hit $10k. There are 5 ways to get leads on LinkedIn, I’ll show you those in a second.
But how many leads depends on what I call your LAPD. LAPD stands for Leads, Appointments, Proposals and Deals.
The better you get at converting from one stage to the next, the fewer leads you need to hit your target.
For example:
- Leads per month: 20
- Appointments per month: 10
- Proposals: 5
- Deals: 2 @ $5k = $10k per month
So, I said there are 5 ways to get leads, you don’t need to do all of them, to make $10k a month, you need to master one, then build a 30-min daily routine around it.
Let me break them down quickly.
- Demand Creation Content - a specific type of content which drives inbound leads, signups for your lead magnet, creates hand raising from your ideal clients using psychological triggers. 2 strategic posts alongside your existing content will bring you warm interested leads.
- Email List or Newsletters - Launching a newsletter or email list that draws in your ICP so you can nurture them and get them to book calls through your Calendly or booking link. One to two emails per week is enough to get the leads and book calls.
- Relationship Led Selling - Strategically building relationships with your ICP, not pitching, but building trust and proximity, so you know exactly what you do, then asking for a conversation. It’s low key and simple.15mins of strategic work per day and 25 conversation starters per week, that’s it.
- Hyper Targeted Outreach - This is the sniper approach to social selling. Pitches don’t work because nobody likes being sold to, but your ICP does want to solve problems and achieve goals. This approach is so targeted, so relevant it has a 33% booking rate. Send 5 of these per day and you’ll get more leads than people sending 200 generic pitches.
- Live Events / Webinars - My favourite, it allows you to demonstrate your expertise and capture a chunk of leads in one hit. I’ve been doing these for 6 years and generated more than 125,000 leads and $10m in revenue. One live webinar per month with 50 ideal prospects can generate enough leads to hit your $10k monthly target.
I have a quiz that will score you against each of these and give your more detail on each, you can grab the quiz here
That’s how you get to $10k a month in new business from LinkedIn in 30mins per day.
One thing I’ve noticed with many people on LinkedIn is that their audience, their connections are often the wrong people, old colleagues, people in their industry, so when they launch this approach, they end up getting engagement from competitors or the wrong people.
Next week, I’ll walk you through how to solve that.
